Sanaz Shamsi

Growing up in Iran meant being surrounded by a culture where art, color, and storytelling were everywhere — from intricate mosaics and Persian carpets to poetry and architecture. This early exposure gave me a natural appreciation for detail, harmony, and emotional expression. Even before I knew what design was, I was fascinated by how beauty could carry meaning and connect people.
In Sweden, I was immersed in a design culture known for minimalism, clarity, and function. Whether in Scandinavian furniture, digital interfaces, or everyday objects, design was sharp, purposeful, and human-centered. While studying frontend development and interning at Ericsson, I learned how to translate these values into practice — focusing on usability, simplicity, and structure. This experience refined my ability to create designs that feel both clean and intuitive.
In the U.S., I’ve been able to merge both worlds: the artistic richness of Iran and the functional minimalism of Sweden. My current work as a UX/UI designer is about balancing creativity with usability — bringing color and personality into interfaces while keeping them simple, accessible, and user-driven.
